(Young's Literal Translation, YLT 1862)
- 美国标准(American Standard Version, ASV 1901),

There are at least three important issues that we need to understand about our Bible.
The first issue is about the Name of God.
How should this tetragrammaton YHWH be handled?
In translations, could we leave the name of God in the Hebrew alphabet?
The Jews themselves when translating the scripture into Greek in the 2nd century BC, they mostly used "Adonai" to substitute YHWH.
The English Bibles mostly followed the Jewish precedent and substituted "the LORD" for YHWH.
KJV only preserved 7 verses where the word is translated as "Jehovah".
There were a few exceptions,
- the Young's Literal Translation YLT 1862
- The American Standard ASV 1901
These were before the times of the CUV.
After CUV in 1919, there are other English Bibles being published with the name of Yahweh.
- the Jerusalem Bible , JB 1966, which is based on the French "La Bible de Jerusalem" of 1956 (in the French edition 1999, eg Gen 2:4, YHWH was translated as "Yahve".) This Bible is printed by the Catholic Church.
In the Jerusalem Bible, the name "Yahweh" appeared 6823 times. The Jerusalem Bible was well received and was the standard Bible for the Catholics. It was updated as New Jerusalem Bible (NJB1985). Even though the Vatican has reiterated a directive that the name of God revealed in the tetragrammaton YHWH is not to be pronounced in Catholic liturgy or in music, citing the authority of Jewish and Christian practice.
However, in 2007, the Catholic Truth Society released a CTS New Catholic Bible, NVB 2007, which is revising from the Jerusalem Bible in 1966. The name Yahweh is replaced with "the LORD" throughout the Old Testament. - Holman Christian Standard Bible HCSB 2003, 2009, In the second edition Yahweh was found in 656 places. As stated in the introduction of the HCSB: "Yahweh is used more often in the Holman CSB than in most Bible translations because the word LORD in English is a title of God and does not accurately convey to modern readers the emphasis on God's name in the original Hebrew."
Then in the next revision, it is renamed Christian Standard Bible CSB 2017, and the name of God again was replaced by "the LORD" throughout. - The Lexham English Bible (LEB 2011) is an online Bible released by Logos Bible Software. This is one of the most powerful Bible software for English scholars and general users.
LEB uses the name "Yahweh" in 5776 verses.
That is the reason why we are providing both the HCSB and the LEB on our web for comparison.
